The first qualifier for the IEM6 Global Challenge Guangzhou has finished, seeing four teams progress to the final qualifier in two weeks.
32 teams were in the bracket for the first qualifier, which saw a few default losses in round one, both due to no shows, but also due to missing ESL Wire files and more.
fnatic easily made their way to secure a slot in the final qualifier, defeating TBH 2-0 in order to do so. Finnish team paistit had a similar showing, also winning 2-0 in their last match, defeating Lions very convincingly to move on to the final qualifier.
The far most interesting match of the final four would be the match between Hardware4u and TCM-Gaming. The German squad recently brought on a new team, housing a Danish duo. After three maps, Hardware4u made their way to the final qualifier with a 2-1 score over the Danish team.
German team mousesports, who today used Franz "gore" Burghardt as a stand-in for Fatih "gob b" Dayik, also had it easy, moving past YamatO (ex-HEADSHOTBG) with a 2-0 score line to gain access to the final qualifier.
Four out of eight teams are now ready for the final qualifier:
